2011 Christmas Sessions
by Edwin Davis
We had fun with our little friends this year.
Traditional, silly, with Santa or Santa pieces we enjoyed spending the time with all of you.
We want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy Hanukkah.
What did we do this year?
For the second year in a row we went to our friend Shannon's of Shannon's Pet Grooming on Pittston Ave in Scranton. Kim from Shannon's Pet Grooming had her husband build a sled for the photo shoots. We set up in her salon each year to take pictures of her clients little buddies and the not so little. This year our biggest challenge was the family of three dogs and four cats, yeah you read that right. I won't tell you our secret on how we got that picture, but we did get the shot.
Tracey's Hope Dog rescue had us at Big Lots in Moosic for pet photos with Santa. The event was to raise money for the rescues and try to get some puppies adopted. If you are looking for a new pooch try a shelter or rescue first.
When we did Santa photos at Moscow Elementary Center we had some help setting up by one our favorite twins. We also had a bunch of little super models helping us setup the light and camera. We had fun and Santa and Mrs. Clause looked great as always. I don't think Santa is bringing me a new car though.
Our next elementary school was Jefferson Elementary, it wasn't the turn out we had hoped for but thanks to all who came out, maybe next year will be better. I went to school there for the 4th and 5th grade and things seemed a lot bigger back then.
In the studio we had some of the cutest kids around. We had a shy little boy who's only wish was to go home but we got some very, very cute images of him. We had a little boy who did not want to be here at all in the beginning of the session, but by the end of the session he didn't want to leave and even said "bye mom" when she was ready to leave. We had an exploding baby, yeah you know what I mean. We had a little princess who's nose was her smile button.
We had our third annual house visit at two of our favorite munchkins house for the traditional fireplace shot.
We got a lot of use from our Santa setup, thanks Kim for letting us use the sled. We love doing events for charities whether it be human or animal. However the downside to doing something like this is not being able to take all the fur balls home with us. If Sandi's daughter, Jess, had anything to say about it Sandi's house would be a Kennel.
We want to thank you all for selecting us for your photography studio and look forward to seeing you in 2012 at the new studio in Green ridge.
